課程概述

To introduce the basic concepts and theories of passive energy dissipation and seismic isolation for structural applications, and discuss current research, development, design and code-related activities in this field.
(I)Overview of passive control of structures
(II)Review of structural dynamics and earthquake engineering
(III)Viscoelastic damper
(IV)Viscous damper
(V) Seismic isolation of structures 

課程目標
To make students understand the concepts and theories of passive damping and seismic isolated structures, and learn how to analyze and design of these structures. 
課程要求
Students that have backgrounds of strength of material, theory of structures, structural dynamics.
